Skate 4 Life
The Street 2 Stage Skate Program is a community‑driven initiative designed for homeless, marginalised, drug‑affected, and at‑risk young people. The program uses skateboarding as a powerful tool for connection, purpose, and personal transformation. By providing a safe, structured, and culturally relevant environment, the program supports participants to step away from the streets, build confidence, develop life skills, and reconnect with community.
Skateboarding is more than a sport in this context — it becomes a pathway to resilience, belonging, and self‑expression. Participants engage in regular skate sessions, mentoring, creative workshops, and leadership opportunities. The program integrates physical activity with social‑emotional learning, harm‑minimisation education, and positive peer networks. Through consistent engagement, young people develop discipline, focus, teamwork, and a renewed sense of identity.
The Street 2 Stage Skate Program is delivered by lived‑experience mentors and community leaders who understand the realities of homelessness, addiction, and social disadvantage. This ensures the program remains culturally safe, trauma‑informed, and grounded in real‑world experience. The initiative also creates pathways into creative arts, media, and leadership roles within Street 2 Stage, empowering participants to become mentors for future generations.
Our mission
Our mission is to use skateboarding as a transformative tool to empower homeless, marginalised, and at‑risk young people. We aim to create a safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful environment where participants can build confidence, develop life skills, and find purpose beyond the streets. Through mentorship, physical activity, and creative expression, we support young people to overcome barriers, strengthen resilience, and move toward healthier, more stable futures.
Our vision
Our vision is a community where every young person — regardless of their background, circumstances, or challenges — has access to positive pathways, supportive relationships, and opportunities to thrive. We envision a future where skateboarding becomes a bridge to empowerment, leadership, and long‑term wellbeing. Through the Street 2 Stage Skate Program, we aim to break cycles of homelessness, addiction, and social disadvantage by building a generation of confident, connected, and resilient young leaders.
Our team
Our Skating Coach has skated his whole life, now using those skills to teach the next generation to escape the streets and to find purpose in skating, skate 4 life is life changing and teaches our participants a sport that creates not only change but a community driven family.
